Justina Hlavka
Director
Justina is a third-generation U.S. Air Force veteran, having proudly served for six years as an Air Traffic Controller. After leaving the military, she continued her career in air traffic control with the Federal Aviation Administration before retiring.
Now enjoying retirement in beautiful Suttons Bay, MI, Justina spends her time with her family—her husband John and their two sons, Joey and Jacob. The Hlavka family loves fishing, hunting, and relaxing by their pool. Their favorite time of year is whenever Joey, who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, comes home on leave.
An animal lover, Justina shares her home with two dogs, a Boston Terrier named Sergeant Stubby and a Springer Spaniel named Ammo, along with a short-haired orange stray rescue cat named Ruthie.
Photography has been her lifelong passion and hobby, and retirement has given her the perfect opportunity to fully embrace it. She is also a second-degree black belt, a testament to her dedication and discipline.
One of her proudest achievements is receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the White House for her duties performed during and after Hurricane Katrina.
